Pro Digital was selected to design, engineer, and deploy an integrated digital signage ecosystem for the Department of Mines and Geology, Karnataka. These smart iStandees, deployed across taluks and districts, now function as real-time public information beacons—delivering dynamic updates, alerts, and awareness campaigns to local communities at scale.
The Department needed a reliable and future-ready system to disseminate real-time updates about mineral regulations, permit statuses, auction information, public notices, and environmental advisories across remote and urban locations. The challenge was not only the diversity of geography—from bustling district HQs to rural taluk centers—but also the need for secured, centralized control of content and uptime in high-usage environments.
Their existing modes of communication lacked reach, speed, and adaptability. They needed a solution that was durable, tamper-proof, and smart enough to update itself—remotely and securely.
Pro Digital designed and built a bespoke iStandee ecosystem—starting with industrial-grade hardware engineered to handle rugged public conditions, integrated with Pro Digital’s proprietary cloud-based signage CMS platform. These iStandees featured a reinforced aluminum and tempered glass design with a slim, ventilated, fan-less build—crafted for reliability and continuous 24x7 usage.
The signage engine was powered by an octa-core 4K Android-based media player with secure communication protocols, enabling smooth multi-zone content playback, local language support, and robust offline functionality.
On the software side, we enabled remote content management, campaign scheduling, real-time alerts, and emergency override messaging. Content could be managed from a central dashboard with multi-user permission levels—ensuring governance at scale without compromising control or security.
Pro Digital managed the full lifecycle—from concept and fabrication to deployment and training. This included designing custom iStandees as per site-specific dimensions, integrating rugged signage hardware, embedding industrial-grade Android media players, and configuring a scalable CMS with granular access control. Each unit came with its own unique identifier, enabling geo-based grouping and content segmentation. We implemented encrypted data transmission protocols for all player-server communications and included a watchdog-based auto-recovery mechanism to handle remote reboots or emergency broadcasts.
Security was deeply embedded—both at the hardware level (tamper-resistant enclosures, secure boot environments) and software level (HTTPS encryption, device authentication, and role-based access control within the CMS). We also trained regional operators on scheduling, multilingual content uploads, and emergency override workflows.
Seamless deployment across multiple taluks and districts, creating an unprecedented digital outreach infrastructure.
Central control with local relevance—regional language content, real-time data push, and site-specific updates ensured relevance and inclusivity.
Significant reduction in manual communication effort and improved citizen awareness regarding mining activities, government regulations, and environmental compliance.
24x7 uptime and low maintenance ensured uninterrupted messaging even in remote zones.
High durability of hardware ensured long-term reliability with minimal service downtime.
This deployment set a benchmark for how governance can scale digital transformation across physical geographies. By combining robust Made-in-India hardware with a secure, cloud-native content management backbone, Pro Digital enabled the Department of Mines and Geology to make public communication more dynamic, transparent, and inclusive. The project demonstrates how digital infrastructure—when engineered with security, scalability, and usability—can dramatically enhance citizen engagement and operational efficiency for public sector agencies.
