In a large-scale initiative led by the Government of Karnataka, Pro Digital transformed outdated, underutilized TV systems across 80+ BBMP public healthcare centres into a robust digital signage network. This project enabled real-time communication, health awareness, and central content control—without replacing existing infrastructure.
Across numerous BBMP hospitals and public healthcare centres, standard televisions had been installed with the intent to educate and inform patients. However, these displays were largely ineffective in delivering their purpose due to the outdated method of using USB sticks to manually update content. This led to significant operational inefficiencies:
Irregular or outdated content being displayed
Human dependency for manual updates
Zero central control or scheduling
Incompatibility between varied TV models and content formats
Poor utilization of valuable display infrastructure
The lack of real-time communication severely limited the ability to disseminate vital health updates, public service messages, and emergency alerts to patients and visitors—undermining the original vision behind deploying these displays.
Pro Digital engineered a future-ready, scalable solution by introducing its industrial-grade Pro Digital Signage Player, a plug-and-play device designed to work with all makes and models of existing TVs at the healthcare centres. Instead of replacing hardware, we retrofitted the current systems to create a centralized, CMS-powered digital signage network that could:
Schedule and broadcast multimedia health content
Instantly push emergency notifications or public awareness campaigns
Operate seamlessly across various TV brands and display formats
Eliminate the need for manual USB content updates
Enable remote monitoring and health analytics of each unit
Each signage player was pre-configured with Pro Digital’s proprietary CMS, ensuring robust performance, multi-format compatibility, and secure, encrypted content delivery.
Pro Digital took complete ownership of the end-to-end retrofit deployment. This included technical audit of all existing TVs, supply and installation of signage players, cloud-based CMS setup, UI/UX configuration for ease of content management, and comprehensive training for BBMP staff. Our team also provided operational support for content creation, health data visual templates, and long-term SLA-based maintenance.
100% Centralized Control of all healthcare centre displays through one cloud CMS
Zero Downtime in content broadcasting across hundreds of endpoints
Real-time Emergency Updates delivered instantly across all connected locations
Reduced Operational Load, eliminating manual updates and human errors
Improved Health Communication, with timely visuals on hygiene, vaccination, and public health advisories
This project dramatically improved patient engagement, enhanced healthcare communication, and ensured compliance with public outreach mandates at scale.
This deployment is a model example of how existing infrastructure can be digitally transformed without expensive hardware overhaul. By solving a deeply functional challenge with a cost-effective and scalable retrofit, Pro Digital enabled the Government of Karnataka to fulfil its vision of connected healthcare communication. The same approach can be replicated across public institutions—from transport hubs to educational campuses—where budget constraints meet the need for smart digital transformation.
