The Challenge

The client was grappling with the challenge of translating highly technical engine schematics into a format that could be easily understood across internal teams and external stakeholders. Traditional training methods—consisting of static CAD files, diagrams, and dense documentation—offered little interactivity and often failed to communicate the functional relationships between engine components effectively.

For internal teams, this hindered training efficiency, particularly for new hires and cross-functional staff unfamiliar with the intricate mechanical details. For external customers, there was no compelling way to demonstrate the innovation embedded within each engine variant. The company needed an intelligent, scalable, and visually impactful platform that could bridge these two critical audiences: engineers seeking clarity and customers seeking confidence.

Our Solution

Pro Digital envisioned a cross-platform immersive storytelling system that converted the client’s raw CAD and engineering files into interactive digital experiences. Each engine component was digitally exploded and restructured into a real-time 3D environment. These virtual assemblies were then embedded with contextual narratives and visual cues to illustrate function, connectivity, and innovation.

To ensure maximum accessibility and engagement, we developed a suite of applications that spanned:

  • Mixed Reality Training Modules: Using MR headsets to simulate real-time maintenance, part identification, and troubleshooting walkthroughs.

  • Virtual Reality Exploration: Enabling deep dives into engine internals in fully immersive environments for training and presentations.

We also built a custom CMS-driven backend that centralized all content, enabling real-time updates, multilingual deployment, and hardware-specific optimization across touch tables, AR/VR devices, and holographic displays.

Our Scope Included

Pro Digital delivered a full turnkey solution, starting from technology consulting and spatial planning to immersive content creation and system integration. We began by transforming the client's detailed CAD/engineering data into real-time 3D models using a mix of mesh optimization, texture mapping, and animation layering techniques. This engineering data was then augmented with contextual insights—such as material properties, mechanical functions, inter-component dependencies, and assembly processes—converted into micro-stories within the application interface.

We developed immersive experiences across MR headsets, VR pods, and AR environments, each tailored for different use cases—training, sales, and exhibitions. Additionally, we designed custom UI/UX systems for multi-touch tables and video walls, enabling real-time interaction with component animations, callouts, and content overlays.

Our team also implemented a scalable content management engine to allow remote updates and localization of content. The final deployment included hardware calibration, integration of our proprietary Pro Touch Tables and OLED-based video walls, staff training, and post-deployment technical support to ensure optimal performance and engagement.
